At Screens ‘n’ More, we serve Gold Coast area clients by transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones. Our primary focus is on the supply, installation and replacement of glass architectural elements.
From a single replacement of a plain wooden wardrobe door to one with beautiful, frosted-glass inserts to the installation of glass balustrading that completely transforms the look of a staircase, we love to show our customers the infinite possibilities—and surprising practicality—of beautiful glass elements in the home.
Here are a few areas in which we specialise:
Another of our most popular requests are new glass shower screens—the new standard in shower screens for the modern Gold Coast home. If your glass door has gotten old, rusty and tired looking, or—gasp!—you are still using an old curtain and rod, we’d love to help outfit you with a new frameless or semi-frameless glass shower screen.
You’ll be amazed by the options. While many homeowners still prefer a fully enclosed shower with a clear glass door to let in light and create the illusion of invisibility, others have taken it further to create full glass shower chambers, attached to the wall on only one side with the other three made of glass panels. It’s the ultimate in minimalist luxury and the creation of a spacious, air-filled, spa-style bathroom. We supply our shower screens to builders like Symcorp who produce amazing bathroom renovations.
We have nothing against the old-fashioned standalone wardrobe, which is often beautifully crafted and built to last a lifetime. But increasingly, homeowners are treating them as just that—heirlooms or accent furniture. They’re no longer considered the most practical choice for storing clothing and personal belongings.
That’s why we have so many requests to build or modify built-in closets, which can be made in any shape or size, outfitted with custom organisation systems and tucked away behind closed doors without taking up any space in the room itself. We add built-in wardrobes in all parts of the home, such as entryways for coat storage and children’s rooms for their own clothing and other belongings.
Far and away the most common request is for new or expanded built in wardrobes for the master bedroom. Here, wardrobes are often rooms unto themselves—wide pockets or deep, walk-in spaces to accommodate and organise every bit of clothing in the most orderly fashion possible thanks to custom additions such as shoe racks, combination drawer/shelf units, flexible hanging options and even jewelry drawers. If you can imagine it, we can build it!
If you’re going to build the wardrobe of your dreams, you shouldn’t settle for just any old wardrobe door. There are so many options to choose from—traditional, contemporary or anywhere in between.
For starters, the style of your wardrobe will at least partially dictate what door choice works best. Deep wardrobes with more narrow openings usually call for a traditional, single-panel hinged door—but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Glass paneling, whether single-or multi-paneling, can be a stunning look with crystal, frosted or colored glass panels inset into any door.
For wide doors, the choices are even greater. We can do a series of hinged doors or wide sliding doors, for instance, depending upon preference and space considerations. These are also available in different types of glass or mirroring.
If you have a beautiful swimming pool but it’s surround by fencing that blocks the surrounding view—or just makes you feel separated from the rest of the property—consider replacing it with glass pool fencing instead. It opens the space to a full view of the outdoors, making the pool and decking feel bigger and more luxurious while still offering the protection you need.
Glass pool fencing is available in frameless and semi-frameless styles, with pros and cons to each that we’d be happy to talk over with you to meet your personal style and budget. Whatever your choice, you’ll love the way glass pool fencing showcases your pool while opening it up to the beautiful outdoors.
Once found mostly in high-design public buildings, glass balustrades are becoming more a more common choice for homes, as well.
Like other glass architectural elements, a glass balustrade combines sophistication and minimalism, opening up not just staircases but entire rooms to greater light and the feeling of spaciousness.
We install glass balustrades in a number of settings—not only staircases, but anywhere you would normally expect to find a protective barrier. This includes balconies as well as any area of the home where you want to set apart a space for work, dining or other uses without erecting solid walls. Meanwhile, in any setting, a glass balustrade maximizes the feeling of spaciousness and light.
In kitchens and other areas where you want to protect your walls against splattering water or grease, splashbacks serve a critical function—but they also provide a great opportunity to express your personal style or complete the design scheme of the room. Of all the options available, glass is becoming more and more popular as a splashback for its versatility and easy to clean maintenance. It can also create a sophisticated look at a very affordable price.
Painted walls in a solid hue, elaborate designs or anything in between are stunning when encased in glass, which protects the paint with an easy to clean surface that also reflects light in the room. Glass splashbacks are also versatile when it comes to the glass itself, which is available in crystal-clear, frosted, smoked, printed or coloured glass. We even install glass tiles in any size to create a unique, oceanic look.
Whether you’re building a new home or simply redecorating a single area of the house, please call us today to find out about the infinite options when it comes to designing with glass. Our team is experienced in the many choices available to you and can offer suggestions about choices that will work well both functionally and aesthetically to bring your design ideas to life.
